Work Place War!

I don’t know how many of you have faced office politics, but I can say one thing for sure, when people from different backgrounds come together and work, a lot of politics comes into play. No company can ever say that they are politics free. And some politics is worse than what we see in play by rulers of any given nation.

My husband and I have worked in a couple of Indian companies, and let me tell you this, the politics there is dirtier than Indian politics. The most recent event being my husband losing his job yet again because of such politics. Both of us are the kind of people who do not care about what others think about us. We give our 100% to the work that’s assigned to us. We do not have time for gossip, let alone play politics. My husband joined this new company in March 2021. The guy who recruited him and vouched for him the whole time turned out to be the traitor who fired him, why exactly? Oh! the reason being the lady who works in HR wanted to get her friend a job and the guy who recruited my husband felt threatened by how my husband handled everything that was assigned to him. My husband has over eleven plus years of experience in the field and he learned from the best. So his immediate boss felt scared. That would be the right word. And because he was not man enough to tell that to my husband on his face, he played dirty politics along with HR and got my husband fired! He had just finished his probationary period, so technically, they can let go of my husband without much of a so called financial loss. The news came as a shocker to most of the people because, when a review was taken regarding his performance, everyone rated him as capable and apt for the job. So where did all these reviews vanish. And what better time to fire a person, than when his super boss isn’t even in the country.

Moral of the story: Do not love the company you work for and never sacrifice family time for it. At the end of the day, the only people who will stand by you is your family and if something happens to you, only your loved ones get effected and no body else. Your company can replace you in seconds, but your family will never be able to find a replacement for you!
